There have been many changes to classes and class times. Please scroll through the entire list and check days/times carefully.


Dance


Pre-Ballet (4-5yrs)

Thursdays 4:30-5:00

• $40 per month,

includes show costume;

(no tuition in december)

For students who are 4 years old by September 1, 2024 (unless pre-approved by director), and want to learn the beginnings of ballet. Must be potty-trained. Two pairs of tights are included in the cost of this class. One pair will be given at the beginning of the fall semester, and the second pair will be given with the costume for the spring performance. Please see our dress code page before buying anything for the class. Taught by Misti Roberts and Haylie Summers.

Ballet I /Tap I

Mondays 5:30-6:30

• $50 per month,

includes both show costumes;

For students approximately 6-9 years old. Two pairs of tights are included in the cost of this class. One pair will be given at the beginning of the fall semester, and the second pair will be given with the costume for the spring performance. Taught by Misti Roberts.

Ballet II

Mondays 4:45-5:30 and

Thursday 6:00-6:45

For students approximately 8-11 years old. Teacher approval required for 8 year olds. This class meets twice a week and placement is required. Two pairs of tights are included in the cost of this class. Ballet III & Pointe

mondays 6:15-7:15 and

For students who are 10 and older and/or by teacher approval. This class meets twice a week. Students not yet on pointe will do class in ballet shoes - pointe is not a requirement. Two pairs of tights are included in the cost of this class. One pair will be given at the beginning of the fall semester, and the second pair will be given with the costume for the spring performance. Taught by Jennifer Austin.

Ballet IV & Pointe

mondays 3:30-4:45 and

thursdays 3:30-4:30

For students aged 14 or older with 4 or more years of pointe and/or by teacher approval. This class meets twice per week and placement is required. Two pairs of tights are included in the cost of this class. One pair will be given at the beginning of the fall semester, and the second pair will be given with the costume for the spring performance. Taught by Jennifer Austin.

Beginning Teen Ballet

Mondays 4:00-4:45

$30 per month; no tuition in december

Ballet is the foundation of other styles of dance. This is a class for teens who are interested in the discipline of ballet to grow their dance skills. No performance! Taught by Misti Roberts.

Adult/Recreational Ballet

thursdays 7:oo-7:45; OCTOBER start date

$30 per month; no tuition in december

This is simply a beginning ballet class for adults and teens. This class will need a minimum of 10 students to continue, so please do not buy shoes until we know there are enough students. Students may wear traditional ballet outfit (leotard, tights) or other clothes that are comfortable and that allow movement (black tank top, black shorts, black leggings, etc).  Taught by Lauren Kolmetz. 

 

Worship Dance (ages 12+)

Tuesdays 7:30-8:15

free for ALL INV Students

This class is for students who are 12 years or older. Although this is not a beginner class, beginners may be approved depending on age and/or space. Students must also be enrolled in Recreational Ballet or higher since this is primarily a choreography class. Tights are available for purchase. At least one pair is recommended for the fall semester; two pairs are recommended for the spring semester. Taught by Lauren Kolmetz and Haylie Summers; lyrical style dance.


Elementary Tap

for students age 9-13;

This class is leveled for different ages and skills. Please see our dress code page before buying anything for the class. Taught by Misti Roberts.

Teen Tap

Thursdays 5:15-6:00

For students who are at least 13 years old with 2 years of tap. **Teacher may approve students with less tap experience. Placement Required.  Teen Tap students must have "Jazz Tap Shoes." Please see our dress code page before buying anything for the class. Taught by Misti Roberts.


Adult Tap

thursdays 7:45-8:30

For beginner and intermediate adult tappers. Black leggings or shorts, black shirt, tap shoes. This class will need a minimum of 8 students to continue, so please do not buy shoes until we know there are enough students. Come try a class!  Taught by Misti Roberts. 

Advanced Jazz and Contemporary

mondays 4:45-5:30

$45 per month;

This is a fun, technical class for students aged 12-18 who have at least one year of ballet and are currently enrolled in ballet and modern. Teacher approval required for 12 year olds. Must be 12 years old by September 1, 2024. Teacher has final say on placement.  Please see our dress code page before buying anything for the class.  Taught by Jennifer Austin/Misti Roberts.

Advanced Modern

Adult Modern

Students will be taught in a mix of contemporary and traditional modern styles. This class will begin in January. Please wear black leggings, tights, shorts, etc and a black leotard, black t shirt, etc. Taught by Jennifer Austin.


Musical Theatre

Elementary Theatre Dance (ages 9-12)

Musical Theatre - Jungle Book!

Tuesdays 3:30-5:00

NOTE! YOU MAY NOT PARTICIPATE IN BOTH JUNGLE BOOK AND MATILDA- REHEARSALS OVERLAP.YOUNGER STUDENTS MAY REGISTER FOR JUNGLE BOOK, AND, IF THEY ARE ALSO AUDITIONING FOR MATILDA, I’LL TRANSFER THE REGISTRATION TO THAT SHOW.

This is a high commitment class - full of singing, dancing, and acting! The class will end with a full musical performance in late November. Each student is expected to attend all classes (no more than 2 absences for illness or travel). Attendance requirements will be strictly enforced - please make sure your child is able to make this commitment. In addition to Tuesday class times, every student is required to attend Saturday Show rehearsals (4 hours each) leading up to the show. Students must be 8 yrs old by September 1. Taught by Misti Roberts, Lauren Kolmetz, Haylie Summers, Jennifer Austin, and Regina Smith.

 Theatre is very much a team sport. Every member of the ensemble is needed and important!! Every student in this class will have a place in the musical. Auditions are required for everyone, regardless of whether or not you would like a speaking role.  Auditions help us place you vocally and physically in parts of the ensemble for which you are most well suited. All students enrolled will receive a detailed audition letter describing how to prepare for the audition.

Technical Theater -

tuesdays 3:30-5:00 (13+)$35 per month

Students learn the importance of technical theatre and explore the use of such elements as costumes, props, and scenery. Students practice writing for the theatre and explore various theatre roles and functions. They will explore the elements of art and design for various theatre roles such as scenery, lights, sounds, etc. This class will create and execute the technical aspects of our Jungle Book show with the supervision of our creative team. Taught by Haylie Summers.


Musical Theatre - Matilda!

Tuesdays 5:15-7:30

Vocals

Choir & Sight Reading MS/HS

mondays 6:15-7:15

$35 per month

If you plan to audition for musical theatre in college, this is an invaluable class for you!

Choir/Music Theory is for individuals who will be at least 13 years old by Sept 1, 2024 (unless approved by director). The class will focus on harmonizing, blending, reading music, sight singing, and music theory. This class is primarily education-focused, but will perform one song at Eastgate’s Christmas celebration (Milk & Cookies night) and one song in our spring show. Directed by Regina Smith.

Elementary Choir

Thursdays 7:00-7:45 begins In march

$35 per month; march & april, performance in early may

Elementary Choir is a mini-course in choral singing, providing students with the choral knowledge to increase their musical skills. Students will practice proper singing techniques, learn to follow sheet music, and learn 2- and/or 3-part harmony. Students will perform as a group at a spring concert. This class is a mini-session that will be offered in the spring after the Matilda performance. Directed by Regina Smith.

Songwriting: Exercises & Performing

Monday 7:30-8:30

$30 per month (no tuition in december)

Everyone has a story to tell, but we don’t always know how to tell it. Songwriting is a one-hour class to help teens learn to express themselves through the skill of songwriting! Anyone is welcome, and kids who play an instrument are highly encouraged to sign up! Class will include: writing exercises, team building skills, writing alone, in-class performances, giving & receiving feedback, etc. Ages 13+. Taught by Marc Rich.

**Private Voice Lessons - Private vocal coaching is strongly recommended if your child is more serious about musical theatre. Please ALWAYS choose a classical teacher! (It would be better to get on someone’s waitlist and wait that out rather than taking from a teacher who is not classically trained!)

Acting III MS/HS

This class is for students age 13+ who would like to challenge themselves in acting. Must have two years of acting experience/classes. Taught by AJ Powliatis.


Improv Team- audition only

Thursdays 7:30-8:30 (Ages 13+)

$30 per month

This team will rehearse each week in class and perform in a variety of improv shows on the weekends. Although improv experience is not required, only 8 students will be selected to be on this team so auditions are necessary. Audition info coming soon! Students age 13+ only. Taught by AJ Powiliatis.

Elementary Improv/Acting

Students will learn the core fundamentals and principles of improv, focusing on various games and exercises that encourage trust, communication, agreement, active listening, character, status, and making their scene partners look good. After that, students will start to apply these concepts into fully improvised scenes. This class will focus on how to imagine the basic structures of scenes and how to communicate that to an audience. For students aged 8-12 years old. Class size limited to 15 students. Taught by AJ Powiliatis

Teen Comedy; MS/HS Improv & Sketch

thursdays 6:30-7:30 (13+)

$30 per month;

no costume fee, no tuition in december

ACADEMIC CLASSES

Musical Theatre History MS/HS

Thursdays 2:00-3:00

This class covers Musical Theatre History for middle school/high school age students. Studying musical theatre history helps performers understand the origin of roles/shows they will be exposed to as well as helping them understand how one musical led to the creation of another, etc. Taught by Suzanne Roberts.

Playwriting; Script Analysis

Tuesdays 3:00-4:00

$30 per month

This class will expose students to a variety of scripts and help them with critical thinking as they analyze and compare the scripts. Taught by AJ Powilitis.
